    SAINT LUKE BAPTIST CHURCH

"WHAT WE BELIEVE"

About God: We believe in the one and only true living God who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.

We believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of all creation.

We believe God the Son (Jesus) is the promised Savior of the world, who was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, sent to reveal God the Father to all mankind. We believe Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, died on a cross to redeem mankind from sin.

We believe in Jesus bodily resurrection from the grave, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return to receive His church.

We believe God the Holy Spirit, to be the third person in the Trinity sent from God to indwell all believers, to convict the world of sin, to teach, to guide, to strengthen and perfect every believer.

About the Bible: We believe the Bible to be the God breathed inspired word of God. We believe it is infallible and without error. We affirm that the sixty-six books of the Bible to be the only inspired God breeathed word of God.

About Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God at creation, but sinned. From that time on all men have been born into sin needing a Savior, Jesus Christ.

About Salvation: We believe that salvation is when a sinner repents of sin, turns to Jesus Christ by faith alone, trusting Him for salvation.

We believe faith in Jesus Christ as a n atonement for sins and Lord of life to be the only way to salvation.

About the Church: We believe the church to be a body of baptized believers in Christ.

We believe all believers should be connected in membership to a local body whereby they worship and serve the one true living God. We believe the members of a local body are to practice regular observance of communion (Lord's Supper) and to always be ready to share his faith.

Lastly, we believe giving of tithes and offerings to be God's designed way to support His church.
